Rumble over Hrithik Roshan's perfect take

If there’s any one actor who can seriously give a run to actor Aamir Khan for his Mr Perfectionist tag, then it’s got to be Hrithik Roshan. Industrywallahs and insiders are all well aware of Hrithik’s penchant for perfection for a long while now. However, what’s considered his strongest point in Bollywood, is apparently causing sleepless nights for all associated with his dance reality show on TV.

According to sources, the actor works so hard towards perfecting his every look, take and dance move that the schedule often goes overtime.

Apparently he takes several hours to even come out of his vanity van while he rehearses his part. And it’s not only show heads who bear the brunt, but buzz is that even the co-judges choreographers Vaibhavi Merchant and Farah Khan are increasingly getting irked because of the delays. Says an insider, “So far we’ve only heard about actors’ unprofessionalism being the root cause of delays, but it’s probably the first time that schedules are going haywire because an actor is literally giving more than a hundred per cent.”

But while everyone appreciates his efforts, what cannot be overlooked is the inconvenience caused to the others due to the extended shoot periods, as also the production costs. However, no one is getting vocal about their complains. And a source insists that it has less to do with Hrithik’s star status.

“He is good friends with both Vaibhavi and Farah, so they obviously grin and bear. But the bigger fact is that he’s bagged one of the highest TRPs for the channel. Besides, whenever any channel signs on a big star the house is mentally prepared to face the baggage that comes with them. But in this case the only time they’ve had to adjust is when schedules had to be reworked keeping in mind his shoot of Agneepath. He also couldn’t do the promotional activities as planned initially which the show heads were not too happy about,” the source added. “But apart from these glitches he has been a delight on the sets and the contestants love his personal involvement,” says another.

An insider opines, “The problem with Hrithik is that he gets too passionate and involved in anything he does. While it’s a great plus to have those qualities in an actor, there’s no denying that sometimes it’s not always the practical thing especially on TV.”
