DNA quiz Hollywood heartthrobs, Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart about all things desi.

Robert Pattinson roots for Shah Rukh Khan, 'DDLJ ' and Taj Mahal

Twilight lead pair, Rob and Kristen, may be tight-lipped about their off-screen romance, but have no qualms in revealing similar tastes in Bollywood and India

Have you seen any Indian film?
Kristen: I have seen the promos of Ra.One and looking forward to watch the movie. Indian movies are mostly made keeping the Indian audiences in mind. Very few movies are made to create a global impact. I believe Indian movies have a lot of potential.
Rob: Yes I have, I have seen Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge. I believe the movies made in India are high on emotional aspects.

Is there an Indian actor that you are particularly fond of?
K: Shah Rukh Khan, I think he is a charmer.
R: Shah Rukh Khan, is the actor I know and hence the one I like.

Do you think that given the song-n-dance routine, Indian films are a little removed from reality?
K: May be, they look a little unrealistic, but that’s ok I guess. They are a part of the Indian movies and really influence the success of the movie
R:No I don’t think so, because the kind of movies made in India sync well with the songs, and I guess the impact of the movies will be nullified with them.

Would you act in a Bollywood movie?
K: I would love to do an Indian movie. Understanding the differences in culture, both professionally and personally, will be a great and whole new experience.
R: Of course, I would love to do an Indian movie — acting and music together, the best for me.

Have you been to India?
K: No, I haven’t been to India, but would love to visit the Taj Mahal — the epitome of love — and Mumbai, the film capital of India.
R: No I haven’t been to India, but would love to visit the Taj Mahal and Kashmir.

A lot of Hollywood and UK filmmakers are coming to India to particularly focus on the country or its underbelly. Would you do the same?
K: I would love to take up a project in India, but to be honest I am not really updated on the prevailing conditions of India, so can’t comment which would be the best subject to work on.
R: As I said I would love to visit the place, I do not want to have a motive to come India on the very first go. As far as film making is concerned, I haven’t considered that yet. I am happy acting as of now.

Who are your favourite Indian actors?
K: I like Shah Rukh Khan, Hrithik Roshan and Kareena Kapoor.
R: Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol.

With Bollywood collaborating with Hollywood now becoming a norm, do you think the line is blurring between Bollywood and Hollywood?
K: Indian Movies have advanced a lot; they are almost on the same level as the Hollywood movies.
R: Yes, definitely and that should be the motive. Art should not and cannot be limited within a boundary.

A cause you’d like to take up in India.
K: Promoting the rich cultural heritage of India would be a good cause.
R: Work for poverty

What is the most outrageous thing that you’ve ever done?

K: There isn’t any — I think a lot and look for logic in every thing I see or hear.
R: The pillow biting and tearing in the honeymoon scene of The Breaking Dawn.
