Real fights get reel endings!

Despite flying tempers and reigning egos, B-Town’s replete with happily-ever- after endings, of late.

Real fights get reel endings!

The recent patch-up between actor Shah Rukh Khan and filmmaker couple Farah Khan and Shirish Kunder after a rather nasty showdown has once again only proved the adage that when it comes to Bollywood, there are no permanent friendships or enemies. Like filmmaker Sajid Khan, who was instrumental with actor SRK’s wife Gauri in bringing about the truce between the once good friends turned enemies, points out, “There are always issues, but no issue is big enough that it can’t be sorted out. At the end of it, we are all one big family.” And over the time, B-Town’s witnessed enough reunions, teary or not to agree to that.

“It’s a profession where egos run high and pressure is immense. So, it’s but obvious that there would be instances when they act on an impulse. In most cases they are able to reason it out, if not personally than for professional reasons. After all, it’s hard not to run into each other sooner or later and then instead of feeding more gossip and generating negative talk, it’s better for them to bury past hatchet and make up,” feels trade analysts Taran Adarsh.

That also explains the increase in the number of patch-ups the industry has seen in these past two years alone. Be it filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali making up with Farah or Ashutosh Gowarikar making up with Sajid, after a rather public war of words at an awards event. The apparent cold war between the Bachchans and SRK too seems to have ended when SRK extended an olive branch. All talks of SRK not being invited to the Aishwarya-Abhishek wedding now seems to be history, as the actor dropped by to visit Beti B.

More recently, buzz was that there was some friction between actors Salman Khan and Hrithik Roshan, but that too was sorted when Hrithik paid the Dabangg star a visit and sorted out all issues that were threatening to blow into a public circus. Salman apparently also made up with actor John Abraham after cold shouldering him for several years, while Ranbir Kapoor and he seemed to be on cordial terms too, despite there being buzz of the two not sharing very friendly vibes at one point.

Among actresses too, Priyanka Chopra and Kareena Kapoor, who are not known to be the best of friends, happily posed for the shutterbugs when they bumped into each other at an awards event recently. Kareena also seemed to have made peace with Bipasha Basu with whom she was not on friendly terms right from their first film together, Ajnabee. Sonam Kapoor too will be seen in a film with Abhay Deol after papa Anil Kapoor stepped in and helped them patch up. “By the nature of our jobs, we actors are a sensitive lot with extremely vulnerable egos, and given the competition, it’s hard not to fall prey to the cold vibes. But it’s best career wise and personally to not let ourselves become a laughing stock in the industry and solve issues like mature individuals. Just because you say a ‘hi’ doesn’t mean you are best friends now,” explains an actress.
