Ranbir Kapoor calls Priyanka Chopra a dog!

Actress Priyanka Chopra may have been called a lot of things in the past including ‘junglee billi’ and ‘desi girl’, but she was in for a shock when co-actor Ranbir Kapoor referred to her character in Barfi as a ‘cute puppy dog’ at a recent event. Elaborating about it, the actor was quick to explain that her ‘character is as lovable and adorable as a cute puppy dog is’, which Priyanka too took very sportingly. But while the actor gave a glimpse of his naughty ways with the ladies (co-actor Ileana D’Cruz was also present) at the event, a source reveals that it was no different in real too.

“Ranbir would often be seen engaged in light-hearted banter with PC and Ileana in between takes on the sets of Barfi. And the nature of the film was not one that would require them to stay focussed and in character all the time. So, even though Ranbir plays a deaf and mute character, he’s a lovable rogue and well-adept at charming the ladies,” says the source.

Talking about his Charlie Chaplinesque act in the film that’s creating much buzz, Ranbir says, “We have not copied Charlie Chaplin, but there’s certainly an inspiration. I am Raj Kapoor’s grandson, so blood will speak!” As for his film being released a week before cousin actor Kareena Kapoor’s Heroine and the competition in store, the actor says that it’s not a gharelu matter, but a double ghar ka mamla here. “We are cousins so yes it’s gharelu mamla, I would say it’s double gharelu here, because both the films are by the same production house. But I don’t think the close release will affect the films at all, as both are extremely different in subject and content,” adds Ranbir.
