Rana Daggubati’s not giving up!

Rana Daggubati’s not giving up!

Rana Daggubati’s recent release Department may have failed to set the cash registers ringing at the BO, but the actor — who’s quite a poupular name down South — is far from letting it affect his Bollywood ambitions. Though the actor’s still not keen to shift base to Mumbai, the actor says he’s game for more films here.

“I am open to good roles irrespective of the language or the industry,” he says and reveals that unlike the one year gap between his two films here, now he hopes to decrease the time length between his films. “It may look like I was away from films for a year after Dum Maaro Dum, but the fact is that I was doing several other films down South. So in a way it was no gap at all for me,” adds Rana, who is at present considering other offers here.

Having played a cop in his last outing, the actor says that never mind the fate of the film, the experience was worth it all. “Shooting with Abhishek (Bachchan) in Dum… was like bonding with a buddy, but working with Mr Bachchan (Amitabh) was really like being in an acting school. He’s an institute in himself, not only in acting, but as a person, there’s so much one could learn. So, I think just the chance to work with him made it all worthwhile for me,” explains Rana.

The actor has only good words for his other co-star Sanjay Dutt too. “He’s a real rockstar!” he says. Looking ahead, the actor also reveals that just like language is no bar, genre is no bar for him either. “Romance, or action, I would like to do it all. As cliched as it may sound, the only criteria for me is a good script alone,” he adds.
