Queen of Indian television and film producer, who visited the After Hrs office in Bangalore, promises that her upcoming horror film will spook you out.

'Ragini MMS' will break few conventions, says Ekta Kappor

She is busy flying in and out of cities as two of her films are up for release. While her actor-brother Tusshar Kapoor is concentrating on promoting his next film Shor In The City, producer Ekta Kapoor is busy promoting Ragini MMS — a film that, she promises, will break a few conventions.
Ragini MMS is a horror film. It has been made on the lines of the Hollywood horror film Paranormal Activity. While makers of Paranormal Activity claimed that it was captured footage, Ragini MMS is shot in a way that it looks like it is captured footage. The genre of young horror hasn’t been explored in India and I wanted to do something different too.”
The story revolves around a couple that has been together for around five months and feel it is time to take the relationship to the next level. “On their weekend getaway, the boy decides to record their intimate moments, which he feels will help him make money if sold abroad. While that is over and done with, the biggest shock comes when the boy is checking out the recorded footage. In addition to the couple, there are visions of another person in the room who has participated in all that the couple was involved in and therefore converted their intimacy into a threesome,” explained a rather excited Ekta Kapoor.
“The film is voyeuristic in nature,” Ekta Kapoor goes on to stress. A true fan of horror, she plans to go all out to promote this new film. “We are also organising threesome parties, which you can attend with your date as well as a friend. The idea is to have a group of three people party together,” explains the experimental producer.
Another feather in Ekta’s cap is the fact that Ragini MMS will be released in both Hindi and Telugu. “We want to explore the southern market as the audience here is evolved and welcome new ideas and genres. We are releasing it in Telugu first to test waters before we go on to explore other languages,” offered Ekta Kapoor.
