Actor Prateik and Amy Jackson starrer Ek Deewana Tha has been under the spotlight for various reasons including the actors apparent off screen romance. But this time, they have to face opposition from the Catholic-Christian Secular Forum. The problem in question is the song Hosanna, which has been composed by music composer, AR Rahman. According to the religious group, Hosanna is a prayer in the Bible and the term is sacred to both Jews and Christians.
The song is now being opposed by the Catholic-Christian Secular Forum (CSF), which has apparently been accused as hurting not only hurting the Christians’ sentiments, but also the Jewish. The CSF general secretary, Joseph Dias has started an online petition for all those who believe that the song Hossana should be banned. This has apparently not gone down too well with Prateik who is now urging the makers to start a counter online petition against those who feel that the song should be banned. A source explains, “Hossana has become extremely popular and Prateik is upset and along with the film makers has decided to not bow down to the opposition. Prateik strongly feels this entire need for protests is uncalled for. Hossana is very popular in both Tamil and Telegu version and there have been no issues with both the versions.”
Extremely disappointed with the entire controversy, Prateik said, “Hossana as a song was a huge success in both Tamil and Telegu markets. It doesn’t make any sense for anyone to have a problem when it is re created in Hindi. On our Facebook page, where we have more than 1 lakh users, we are starting an online petition to answer the detractors.”
