Plans for The Amy Winehouse Foundation on hold over registration issue

Plans for setting up a charity in the name of late singer Amy Winehouse have been put on hold because someone else has already registered the name.

Mitch Winehouse planned to start The Amy Winehouse Foundation to help young addicts, but has had to postpone establishing the charity after hitting a problem with the registration.

“Somebody else pinched it off of us before we could get it registered. All these donations which are coming in - we don’t know what to do with them at the moment,” Radar Online quoted Mitch as telling BBC News.

“We’ll have to hold off for the time being,” he said.

However, Mitch insisted the charity would still be going ahead saying.

“The plan is to help all children - not just rehabilitation, not just substance abuse. It’s to help all children in need,” he added.

Amy was found dead at her London home last month aged just 27.
