Outsiders don’t get a second chance in Bollywood: Minissha Lamba

The going may have been slow and steady, but the actress prefers it just that way.

Outsiders don’t get a second chance in Bollywood: Minissha Lamba

She’s been in news, of late, for more than one reason, but Bollywood actress Minissha Lamba’s not to be cowed down by any obstacle that comes her way.

Her usual chirpy self remains intact and rightly so. The young actress is weighing every step she takes in the industry and her move seems to be paying off. And her newest offering, Bheja Fry 2, is something she can’t stop gushing about.

“I had loved the first film and never knew that one day I’ll be part of the sequel. So, when Sagar Ballary asked me, I agreed even before I considered the nitty-gritties,” recollects Lamba, adding, “With actors like Vinay Pathak and Kay Kay Menon on board, it’s a tall order that I had to keep up with.”

Talking about her role, the actress says, “I play the role of a producer of a reality show. Bharat Bhushan participates in this show and turns out to be one person who gets a lot of support from me. Coincidences follow and he is convinced that I’m his ‘ideal’ woman.”

Apart from this film, Lamba is also excited about being part projects like Sagar’s U, Me Aur Shabnam and Shirish Kunder’s Joker. While shooting does take her places, this year, Lamba was part of the Cannes Film Festival and cherishes her experiences there.

“My exposure there made me realise that world over, the concept of filmmaking is the same. The difference is only in how we perceive it,” she states.

Quiz her on whether her Cannes trip has got her some invaluable work contacts and she states, “Networking could happen anywhere but that doesn’t mean one’s life gets made immediately.”

But as for Bollywood, she says “I was wary of doing the wrong films out of ignorance and I am happy with the pace I’ve maintained. Outsiders don’t get a second chance,” she confesses, adding, “I’m extremely approachable, yet, not so accessible,” she says.

In the film industry, there is a  new face being introduced every other Friday — both pretty and talented. Though according to Lamba, that’s hardly a matter of concern. “New faces don’t bother me; I know I’m the prettiest,” she signs off.
