Only English for AR Rahman!

That music has no language is common knowledge and it  applies truly well in the case of music maestro AR Rahman.

Director Aanand Rai, who is all set for his next project Raanjhana with actors Dhanush and Sonam Kapoor was extremely keen on having Rahman do the music for the film. However, since Rahman is not well-versed with Hindi, Rai decided to give him the script in English. 

A source says, “Though Rahman has plenty of projects from Hollywood, Bollywood and South as well, Rahman decided to meet Aanand. However the only condition was that Aanand would have to write the entire script in English for him.” 

He further adds, “The best part about the meeting was when Rahman read the entire script and fell in love with it. He jokingly asked Rai if he could keep the script for himself. Now Rai is not just glad to have got Rahman on board but is also happy that he loved the script.”
