Here is something exciting for travel enthusiasts who are looking an adventure. The Backpacker Co is organising a trip to Ireland for the celebration of the famous St. Patrick's Day festival in March this year.

The festival originated in Dublin and its fever has spread world over and is celebrated in many other countries including Great Britain, Australia, Argentina, US and also India. The festival is best known for street performances, treasure hunts and beer-guzzling sessions. Apart from attending the festival, people will have the opportunity to travel through Ireland's scenic countryside, the ancient capital at the Hill of Tara and other hot spots.

"The jubilation is so much that the streets just come alive. People come out in groups, young, old, everybody. I have heard that till a few years back they even turned the whole river green. I don't know if they still do it," says Yogesh M. Shah (founder of The Backpacker Co).

St. Patrick is one of Christianity's most widely known figures and is believed to be the saint who taught the world to party. The modern secular holiday is based on the original Christian saint's feast day also thought to be the date of the saint's death (March 17). St. Patrick used the shamrock, a green coloured three-leaved plant, to explain the Holy Trinity to the pre-Christian Irish. Since then green is believed to be associated with the festival and people celebrate this day by wearing green colour.

The trips are flexible and do not restrict the travelers to any limited plan. "For solo travelers we help in putting together a bunch of like minded people. People come back with brand new friends and a whole list of contacts," says Shah.
