October 30, your date with Metallica

Bangalore will finally get to see its favourite band perform live in the city. The band confirms its two-city tour.

October 30, your date with Metallica

Bangalore has seen some of the best of international bands and artistes perform live. From Jethro Tull and Roger Waters to Deep Purple and Iron Maiden, they’ve all come here and wowed the crowds. And for metal heads here, it is none other than Metallica that is next on line. The band will perform live in the city on October 30, after their performance in the capital on October 28.

News was out in the open when the band wrote on their site, “At this stage in the game, there are very few places in the world that we have not dragged our gear and crew to, so that makes this show announcement extra special... for the first time ever, we will be visiting India for two shows! It’s about time, wouldn’t you say?!?! Up first will be Delhi on October 28, 2011, at F1 Rocks, held in Leisure Valley, Sector 29, Gurgaon as we help to celebrate the first Grand Prix race ever held in India. Night number two will find us at the Bangalore Palace Grounds, Main Palace, Bangalore, on October 30 as part of the Sonisphere Festival.”

While there have been major speculations about the bands visit over the past two weeks, the organisers at DNA Networks didn’t confirm the same. When After Hrs contacted them, they just said, “We’ve approached many people, but nothing has been finalised. We cannot confirm anything.”

However, it looks like the band hasn’t been able to contain their excitement, for India forms a big chunk of their fan base. The band also wrote that all the tickets will be general admission and that the information on the exact dates of ticket sales will be announced on the DNA Networks’ website.
