No raunchy item song for Shah Rukh Khan

Prabhu Dheva's brother Raju Sundaram to choreograph Shah Rukh and Priyamani.

No raunchy item song for Shah Rukh Khan

For his item song in Chennai Express, Shah Rukh Khan has ordered decorum of the highest order. Says a source, “The original choice to pair Shah Rukh was the Tamil actress Nayantara and Prabhu Dheva was to choreograph them. But Shah Rukh wanted a sober song with non-risque movements. So Prabhu Dheva’s elder brother Raju Sunderam, who is a formidable name in choreography and who hardly ever steps into Bollywood, was coaxed to do the item song for Chennai Express.”

The last time Raju Sunderam did a Bollywood song was to choreograph Shahid Kapoor’s in Kaminey. Partnering Shah Rukh in this special song Tamil cinema’s is Priyamani who was last seen as Vivek Oberoi’s love-interest in Ram Gopal Varma’s Rakht Charitra.

Apparently the song was shot keeping Shah Rukh’s penchant for sobriety in mind. Says the source, “Shah Rukh in any case has a family image. But now with all eyes of the moral police focused on item songs, he has decided not to go anywhere close to raunchy. His brief to Raju Sunderman was to make it fun but not raunchy.”

Incidentally Shah Rukh broke his no-kiss clause for the first and last time in Yash Chopra’s Jab Tak Hai Jaan. So, now no more kisses for King Khan.
