 Lara Dutta

Actress Lara Dutta, probably, is in the best phase of her life. She recently got engaged to tennis star Mahesh Bhupati ending all speculation on their romance, and also launched a fitness DVD.

Her svelte frame, besides being a perfect endorsement for her fitness mantra is also attracting a lot of other health-related brands to endorse. And if that’s not enough, she’s been globetrotting and shooting in Berlin for Farhan Akhtar’s Don 2 with Shah Rukh Khan.

“It’s been wonderful so far shooting for Don 2,” raves the actor.

Currently, she’s super excited about starting her first home production, Chalo Dilli.

Remind her that of late, there’s been a lot of buzz around her fit avatar. Be it in her bikini-perfect appearance in films like Housefull and Blue, or her fitness DVD.

Why the shift from the beauty queen to being ‘the bod’? “Being fit, and more importantly, healthy is a way of life for me. It’s always been that way since my Miss Universe days. In fact, I am the only woman to have won the Best Body competition at an international pageant. It has always been about feeling a specific way which is why I have been able to maintain my body.”

Was she tempted to give in to the ‘size zero’ fad? Lara instantly dismisses the concept by saying, “It is not about being a certain size. Understandyour body type, and what suits it best. I am dedicated to a good workout. It does wonders to your body, and withstands the changes that your body goes through over the years. There is no point in losing sleep to look like someone else. So don’t starve yourself, spend hours on the treadmill and worry about looking a specific way as the results don’t last.At the end of the day, it’s all about being fit and feeling great!”
