No more rumours please, says Rani
Rani Mukerji is back with a new ultra-glam look, a superbly toned body and a fresh new attitude to life. “I’m a completely new Rani that you are looking at,” Rani told DNA with a million dollar smile.

The actress is a generally reserved by nature babe who comes out of her pad to face the flashbulbs only when her film approaches its release date. Rani is now on a whirlwind promotional spree as her forthcoming movie, Dil Bole Hadippa, which many industry pundits say is her make-or-break movie — since her last five movies tanked at the box office.

“Many are saying it is my make-or-break movie. I definitely need a hit because people only respect you once you have a hit, but make-or-break movies are for people who don’t have talent. People have seen the kind of work I’m capable of and my talent is something that will never leave me,” she says taking the bouncer on a front foot.

Though very excited about her new movie, Rani is also very upset about reports of her romantic link up with Aditya Chopra. “The rumour about me getting married (to Aditya Chopra) has been going on for the past three years. I cannot marry the same man over and over again but such reports have come again and again — now it has reached a point that it has started affecting my career,” she says.

Rani adds: “The film-makers now ask me ‘are you getting married?’ People like to take actors who are not married because they have lesser responsibilities. They feel that if I’m getting married, I might leave a shoot halfway. What I have earned in this industry is through blood and sweat, and these stories are trying to take it all away from me.”

On the career front, her upcoming film is generating rave remarks from her fans on the internet. Rani seems to have deployed all her weaponry for this movie. From showing her toned midriff, wearing a bikini top and even losing seven kilos to look sexy and fit in the role of a cricketer, Rani says it is the strong feedback from close people that has made her change. “I was told that I was crying too much in my movies and that I was doing more of serious roles. I accepted their point and tried to reinvent myself,” she says.

Ask her what she wants to do next and Rani jumps up with excitement. “I want to do an action movie now. I have never tried doing it but now with my body and fitness level, I think I can pull it off,” she declares.
