They have sworn off remixes right now! A big step for Eitan Tanami (also known as Injection) and Zeev Kardonski, who have been living off remixes last year.

The Psytrance (psychedelic) duo has slowly become one of the most innovative electronic music creators coming out of Israel in recent times.

“No more remixes for us!” says Tanami, adding, “we did so many in the last year. But if I really had to remix a track at this point it would be a non-psy trance DJ like Deeptech mode or Massive Attack, Portishead or Prodigy and the list goes on.” He says that India is very important in the scheme of things for psy trance.

“India always was an important country for the psy trance scene since two decades ago, with parties in Goa which were a part of the culture in the psy trance scene. I didn’t travel enough in India but from what I see, by now there are a lot of things to see and experience in India in terms of culture, people, religion, food and most importantly, Indian music,” says Tanami.

DNA has gained a reputation for bringing in fresh new sounds from other genres into their tracks. “There are a few tracks where we have used India samples and in fact I have so much respect for India that two of my tracks are named highlighting this beautiful country’s name — India Time and Back to India,” says Tanami.

This duo is now working on their third album Sounds Like A Melody. Their second album Break Out released in 2007 and Eitan’s recent project Injection have made their next album quite an anticipated one.

DNA will perform at Enigma, JW Marriott, tonight from 9 pm onwards.
