Actor Nikhil Dwivedi hails his experience of working with Mani Ratnam, Abhishek and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan as a maturing one

Nikhil Dwivedi says he has been refined as an actor working with Mani Ratnam

Young actor Nikhil Dwivedi , who is excited about his forthcoming release that has been directed by Mani Ratnam, says he has been refined as an actor working under the legendary film-maker. He also adds that by just observing Abhishek and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, he has learnt some of the most valuable acting tips.

“I never imagined that just after doing one film, I will be able to work with Mani Ratnam. He is an institution and all the actors in the industry die to work with him. I consider myself lucky. I have used the opportunity to refine my skills as an actor and I can feel that I have grown as an actor. I take a lot of things forward from this film. I hope I can use them to only mature my craft and strive to become a better actor every single day,” Nikhil tells us.

He also credits junior Bachchan and Ash to be responsible for him getting to learn more. “They are the finest that we have today and by just looking at them approach acting, I have learnt so much.

About Abhishek I have to say that he really makes everyone around him very comfortable no matter if he or she is a big star or a junior artist or a young actor like me. It is he who takes the first step to break the ice. He is one of the best human beings in the industry. Ash is a thorough professional. She takes on her craft so meticulously that you only adore her dedication,” he says.

Nikhil admits that being a young actor without any backing or Godfather or even a family with strong lineage in Bollywood is a difficult proposition. “It is not just a problem with Bollywood. In India, everyone expects that Indira Gandhi’s son will become the prime minister, his widow to become a prime minister and even his son or daughter to become one. There is something nostalgic about lineage in India and it’s not a bad thing but it’s difficult for an outsider to make it big,” he ends.
