A Malayalam short film-maker today claimed that Adaminte Makan Abu (Abu, son of Adam), which bagged the national and state film awards for the best film is an imitation of his short film Maruppacha (Mirage).
The filmmaker, Abbas Kalathode told reporters in Thrissur today that the original short film, based on the theme of the award winning movie was released under the category of 'short films' eight years ago.
He claimed he had himself written and directed the film which starred serial artiste Sangeetha Rajendran and Ershad.
The only difference is that Salim Kumar's character was an old man.
"The award-winning film is an exact replica of Maruppacha," Kalathode claimed.
