More vocal: Uday Chopra Amol Kamble | DNA

Renowned film-maker Aditya Chopra moves around incognito and hasn’t posed for a photograph for over 10 years now. He sprints away the moment anybody spots him. When we asked his younger brother Uday Chopra the reason for this, he candidly admitted that it’s one of Aditya’s eccentricities.
“He only hangs out with a few close people and family members. He has a fear of being recognised. Most people aspire to be a celebrity but my brother hates it. He would run away if he finds somebody has recognised him. My brother is eccentric like many other very gifted and talented men in this world,” says Uday candidly.
There were times when Uday had a heart-to-heart chat with his brother to make him see reason.
“I have told him many times that people would misunderstand him if he runs away whenever someone recognises him. But he negates me immediately. He likes being anonymous,” he says.
But ask Uday if it is because Aditya used to stammer once, and he says, “It might be, but I don’t know about it. It’s too late to change him now. He is that way and let’s accept that.”
But his closely guarded life never ever interferes in his work life, reveals Uday.
“My brother is an extremely methodical boss to have and he exactly knows what he is doing. He is also firm about what he likes or dislikes. When I first took the script of my new film to him, he didn’t like it instantly. He liked the fifth or sixth draft of the script. But once you get a green signal from him, you can be sure you are on the right track,” Uday ends.
