Actor Priyanka Chopra, who has been romantically linked with almost all her co-stars, says these rumours have had an adverse effect on her image and she’s scared about how her future husband and children will react to all this.

“I do think about it as I have had a fair share of rumours linking me with my co-stars. I’m not the sort of person who’ll like it if my children Googleme and say ‘Mom, you’ve had a pretty happening life’. I don’t want my husband to feel weird about the rumours. It scares me a lot. I love the concept of a family and would love to have a great married life with my husband and kids. I don’t want all this to touch them at all. Since I was eight years old, my ambition has been to be a bride,” Priyanka told DNA.

We are sure some of the rumours have been promotional ploys. Now that she admits she is concerned, is she doing anything to stop them? “I can’t really control rumours. I don’t spread them myself but I don’t know why people believe them. I’ll flaunt my guy in front of the world when I know he’s the one for me. I request people to double-check and think before writing. I’m a girl with parents and relatives and someone who will have a family,” she says.

Now that she’s on the threshold of claiming the numero uno spot in Bollywood, is marriage still her biggest ambition?

“There’s a slight technical problem. I need to find a groom. People think my career’s doing fine and I’m carrying myself well and that means guys are drooling over me. But that’s not the case. I’m a little old fashioned and orthodox. My biggest dream is falling in love. I love the feeling when you stop thinking about everything else and only think about that man. I want to be completely and wholly his — and vice versa,” she says flashing a dazzling smile.

“I’m fascinated with love, about someone coming and sweeping me off my feet. I love being with people and I do fantasise about marriage. But as of now, I’m in love with my career and I don’t think I can focus on anything else. But when I’m ready to take the plunge, I will switch gears and become a working home-maker,” she adds.

But Priyanka admits she cannot be just a home-maker. “I can’t just sit at home. I don’t know what I’ll do but I’m a very hyperactive person. I stress myself out. My husband, kids or mother-in-law will go mental if I don’t have anything to do. I need a project...I think my kids will be my project,” laughs Priyanka.
