Michael Douglas may lose voice: Doctor

Hollywood star Michael Douglas can lose his voice after being treated for throat cancer, says a doctor.

The 65-year-old will soon go for an eight-week radiation and chemotherapy session to cure the cancer. The treatment is known to affect the larynx, said Kenneth Hu of New York's Beth Israel Medical Centre, reports Thesun.co.uk.

However, Douglas, who is married to British actress Catherine Zeta Jones, is said to be quite optimistic about the success of the treatment.

According to reports, Douglas' smoking and drinking habits have caused the cancer.

The Oscar-winner is said to have put all engagements on hold for two months, including promotion of his new film Wall Street 2: Money Never Sleeps.
