Malalayam actress Kavya Madhavan to act in 'Christian Brothers'

Popular Malalayam actress Kavya Madhavan will soon don the grease paint once again for the film Christian Brothers in which she will pair with top actor Mohanlal.

Two other lead actors in the film are Suresh Gopi and Dileep.

Kavya's much awaited re-entry into Malayalam films after a reportedly failed marriage, has brought in lot of cheer to the Malayalam film industry, which has lost many popular actresses, including Nayantara, Meera Jasmine and Bhavana to Tamil films.

After her marriage in February this year to Nishal Chandran, a bank officer in Kuwait, Kavya had stopped acting. However, she returned to Kerala a couple of months ago after differences cropped up with her husband and is reportedly contemplating separation, industry sources said.

The pooja of Christian Brothers  was held here with much fanfare yesterday in the presence of Mohanlal, director Joshi and Kavya. Kavya has become choosy about her roles. Major Ravi had offered her the role of an IPS officer in his horror film Maadan Kolli, which Kavya declined, industry sources said.

She made her entry into Malayalam films as a child actress, in Pookkalam Varavayi in 1991 and since then,has not looked back. Kavya's role in PerumazhaKalam had brought her critical acclaim and won her the Kerala government's best actress award in 2004.

Her other well known films are Mizhi Randilum, Madhura Nombarakattu, Sadananthante Samayam,  Meesa Madhavan and Classmates.

Ee Pattanathil Bhootam, in which she starred with superstar Mammooty was her last film after marriage.

Kasi was Kavya's first film in Tamil and she went on to do a few more films.
