'Maharashtra Bhushan' award for actress Sulochana

Mumbai: Veteran actress Sulochana was today named recipient of Maharashtra government's highest award, the 'Maharashtra Bhushan'.

The earlier recipients include batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar, IT wizard Dr Vijay Bhatkar, industrialist Ratan Tata and litterateur the late PL Deshpande.

The award which carries a scroll, memento and Rs5 lakh, would be presented to Sulochana on January 26, an official said.

Born on July 30, 1928, Sulochana has acted in over 250 Marathi and Hindi films.
