Lindsay Lohan drinks herbal tea with 0.5% alcohol content

Troubled star Lindsay Lohan drinks fermented tea with a minuscule alcohol content.

The Mean Girls star, 24, who is not allowed to drink alcohol as part of her probation, had to tell her probation officer that she regularly consumes Kombucha tea, which has an alcohol content of 0.5 per cent or less, reports the Daily Mail.

Now the Los Angeles county probation department have added it to a list of reasons why the judge should violate her probation when she appears in court next week.

Lohan has been spotted carrying bottles of the tea, which are sold in health food stores, since last year.

Manufacturers of the drink claim it can restore energy levels and help with detoxing.
