Laugh a lot!

Siddharth Selvaraj, director of Together In The City, promises its audience a lot of fun.

Laugh a lot!

What is Together In The City all about?

It’s a production of five 10-minute plays with 10 performers, who are extremely versatile actors from different media backgrounds. The plays are about looking at very outrageous relationships in a modern environment that are common across urban cities of our country today.

What do you think the trends in an urban environment are, today?

Well, that’s a tough one, but I feel with excessively busy schedules, it is difficult to have a fruitful and a low-drama relationship. With couples hardly being able to spend time with each other, it is imperative to constantly put effort into the relationship. In my opinion, only those relationships that have a significant amount of trust and understanding can survive today.

Who is your target audience?

We are targeting the middle upper and upper class audience. This play however is most associable for professionals who are 25 to 50 year olds as they would have been through some of these situations at some point in their lives. I feel everyone no matter how mature they are, have been or experienced outrageous relationships in their lives at least once.

What do you plan to achieve with your production house, Tortilla?

Our main aim is to have few individuals play multiple roles with ease and expertise. It is to put together as a diverse set of performers, who can make an effective performance on stage in a short span of time. We also hope to take this production all across Bangalore and shortly, across South India. After establishing ourselves, we do plan to take on other productions.
