Lara Dutta says she is 'comfortable' in Mahesh Bhupathi's company

After keeping gossipmongers guessing for months, actor Lara Dutta and tennis star Mahesh Bhupathi stepped out sometime ago for their first public appearance together. Lara also went a step ahead and said that she was ‘comfortable’ with Mahesh.

During the course of an interview for her forthcoming film, Lara had said, “Though I have many friends, I bond better and I am comfortable with only a few of them. He (Mahesh) is among those. It feels ridiculous when I am asked about marriage every time.”

Mahesh recently got divorced from his wife, former model Shweta Jaishanker. Lara adds that it takes a little time for a relationship to blossom and she doesn’t want to jump the gun at the moment.

Interestingly, sometime ago, Lara had staged a ‘walkout’ on Mahesh when it came to professional commitments. She had taken the side of her publicist who was part of a mass resignation team at Mahesh’s celebrity management company.

A source says, “The walkout happened sometime after rumours surfaced that Mahesh and Lara were seeing each other. The team at Globosport (Mahesh’s company) was fed up with answering questions about the duo and the status of their relationship.”

Meanwhile, Shweta maintains a dignified silence. Though we tried to contact her through one of her friends we couldn’t get through. Her friends just said, “Shweta needs time to think about the matter before making any comment.”
