Lady Gaga goes 'desi' again!

After jamming with Indian composer duo Salim-Sulaiman, international pop singer Lady Gaga has now decided to pair up with another Indian musician, DJ Aqeel. Aqueel has remixed the hit track of Gaga called Edge of Glory.

Aqeel is one of the most connected and networked on the Mumbai society circuit considering the fact that he is the husband of jewellery designer Farah Khan Ali and has actors Hrithik Roshan and Zayed Khan as his brothers-in-law.

Lady Gaga’s manager, Troy Carter also confirmed the development. “We collaborated with Indian music producers from across the globe to show our respect and appreciation for our desi fans and music community,” he says.

With most US pop singers starting to connect to Bollywood, Gaga, sources say, wants to stay ahead of the curve by involving more Indian musicians in her album. 

This will be Lady Gaga's third track remixed through DesiHits! where Aqeel will be adding Punjabi dhol beats to Gaga’s track along with other musical accompaniments.

“Every time Lady Gaga releases a new single I get a call from Interscope and Atom factory (Gaga’s management agencies). She never forgets her desi fans and we always aim to create something especially for them, this time it’s with DJ Aqeel one of India’s coolest DJ’s,” says Anjula Acharia-Bath, CEO of Desi Hits!. Anjula played a pivotal role in pairing up Aqeel with Gaga.
