Lady Gaga dons a shimmering Tarun Tahiliani at Indian concert

Lady Gaga is known to prepare her outrageous outfits for her performances way beforehand but her cream coloured Tarun Tahiliani dress for her maiden Indian concert was an impulsive decision.

So much so, that the designer himself had no idea that the American pop sensation would don his creation for her performance Sunday night at the Formula One after-party hosted by Arjun Rampal.

Tahiliani had sent Gaga a number of outfits from his collection, from which she chose the cream number with Swarovski crystals for her performance, pushing aside the dresses she had brought with her already.

"I got a call from Mehr (Arjun Rampal's wife) saying that Gaga wanted to see a few sarees. So I had sent her a few outfits and our trademark drapes worn with cholis.

"She was so overwhelmed by the dresses that she chose one among them for her performance, leaving the ones she had brought with her already. I had no idea she would be wearing one of my creations for the night!," Tahiliani told PTI.

Gaga, who teamed the shiny dress with flowy blonde hair, even announced on stage that she was wearing an outfit by the Delhi-based designer, calling him the best in the country.

"Its great to be acknowledged by a global pop icon like her. I haven't met her yet, but I am going to meet her soon and gift her more beautiful dresses from my collections," said Tahiliani.
