The much-awaited Hrithik Roshan-Barbara Mori starrer Kites will finally release on May 21 with both Hindi and English versions simultaneously splashing the screens in over 60 countries.

The 'first-look' trailer of the Hindi version will be unveiled in 1700 screens worldwide on February 12 while the English trailer of the mega-budget flick will be released shortly after on 1000 screens.

Directed by Anurag Basu, the film will be released worldwide by Reliance BIG Pictures. The English version of Kites is presented and re-worked by noted Hollywood director Brett Ratner of the Rush Hour Series', 'X-Men: The Last Stand' fame.

Sanjeev Lamba, CEO, Reliance BIG Pictures, said, "We have always believed that Indian films and talent can enjoy the same success and recognition internationally as in India. Kites is a first-of-its-kind Indian film and it has already generated huge interest."

"Kites is a compelling romantic saga that goes beyond barriers, boundaries and cultures. It is a story of passion that defies every rule of a relationship that takes two lovers on a thrilling journey filled with precious moments and unexpected betrayal," producer Rakesh Roshan said.

Kites stars Bollywood heartthrob Hrithik Roshan and Mexican actor Barbara Mori besides Kangana Ranaut, Kabir Bedi and Nick Brown.

The music is composed by Rajesh Roshan, cinematography by Ayananka Bose and stunt coordination by Hollywood's Spiro Razatos.

The English version is re-edited by Mark Helfrich (Rush Hour Series, X-Men: The Last Stand) with additional background score by Graeme Revell (Sin City, Grindhouse, Pineapple Express).
