An FIR has been lodged against the Aman-i-Khas resort authorities in Rajasthan's Sawai Madhopur district for violating noise pollution norms during British comedian Russell Brand and American pop star Katy Perry's marriage last week.
The FIR was filed in Kotwali police station yesterday after a technical committee overseen by district collector Ravi Kumar found the resort authority flouting the norms during the wedding event on October 23.
"We had installed meters in the resort to check noise level which exceeded the permissible limit. Even though no fire crackers and loud speakers were used, the noise level was high to some extent so I directed district SP to file a case against the land owner and resort authorities," Kumar told PTI.
According to Kumar, it was an eco-sensitive zone near the Ranthambore park area and there was possibility of breaching of the norms. "Hence I had already appointed a technical committee on October 22 to look into the matter which helped us a lot to take suitable actions," he said.
The report has been submitted to the Rajasthan State Pollution Control board as well and the resort authorities will be penalised according to law, Kumar said.
Resort officials could not be contacted for comments.
