Karisma Kapoor is back!

Actress Karisma Kapoor, who gave up an active Bollywood career in 2003, post her marriage to entrepreneur Sanjay Kapur, is now charting her way back into the film industry. And buzz is that she has finally green-lighted a project which will be a medium-budget thriller.

“She has been in talks with Vikram (filmmaker Vikram Bhatt) for a long time now and has finally agreed to do a project which will be shot in 3D. It’ll be on the lines of Haunted (Vikram’s last film) and will deal with the supernatural (like demons). Karisma will play the lead role in it,” says a source.

The film will mark her return to the big screen after a hiatus of five years. “She had virtually taken a retirement from films after marriage and eventually got busy playing mommy to her two kids (daughter Samaira, born in 2005 and son Kiaan Raj, born in 2010) and trying to work her marriage out. But now both of them have grown up a little and she can finally concentrate on her career,” says a source. The actor, who is rumoured to have broken up with her husband, continues to stay in Mumbai, while hubby Sanjay stays in Delhi.

“When I first gave Karisma a narration, she loved the story and the script. It’s a woman-centric film and she plays the main character. Dangerous Ishq is a supernatural thriller based on past-life regression. We start shooting in September in Rajasthan,” Vikram said during a media interaction. Karisma also confirmed that she would be acting in the film.
