Kangna Ranaut’s loss, Lakshmi’s gain?

They say opportunities could come knocking any moment, all one needs is to keep their eyes open. This surely seems to be the case of Tollywood beauty Lakshmi Manchu, who might as well be signing her first Bollywood project this year if all goes well.

Lakshmi is in the race for signing a plum role in Rakesh Roshan’s Krrish 3, which is set to be taking off later this year.

“This role was originally offered to Kangna Ranaut by the Roshans. But, she didn’t take it up because she was apprehensive on playing second fiddle again after Kites, since Hrithik and Priyanka (Chopra) are the lead pair,” says a source.

And this seems to have worked in Lakshmi’s favour. Our source from Tollywood says, “Lakshmi has seemed to have held her own in her film Anaganaga Oka Dheerudu that releases today. The lead pair of the film is Siddharth and Shruti Haasan, but people have noticed her. She’s a very secure and competent actor.”

While we hear that things are yet to be finalised as far as the role is concerned, Lakshmi is definitely the frontrunner. When we tried to reach Lakshmi to get her confirmation on the project, she chose to remain tight-lipped.
