Kalki and I are together: Anurag Kashyap

Film-maker Anurag Kashyap, who has separated from his wife Aarti — his college sweetheart whom he dated for nine years before getting married — revealed that he has fallen in love with actor Kalki Koechlin (who is a part of his forthcoming film Dev D in which she plays a modern day Chandramukhi) and that he has told his little daughter Aaliya about it too.

Anurag says, “Kalki and I are very much together and I have told my daughter Aaliya about this development in my life. She (Aaliya) is special to me and I wanted to inform her about it. But I will never talk openly about this. It is too personal a matter and I don’t want to involve my daughter in it.”

Reportedly Anurag and Aarti headed for splitsville in the latter half of 2007 when he moved out of their Andheri flat and started staying separately in Versova. Anurag’s bouts of depression and proximity with Ayesha Mohan (actor in Anurag’s Gulal) were cited as reasons for their love going bust.

How does he feel about Kalki talking openly about their romance? “Everything that she has said so far is true. We are seeing each other but I’m a different individual than her. I’m a little superstitious about my relationships and I don’t want to be talked about for my personal life. Kalki can talk about it. There’s nothing to hide, people know that we are very much together now,” he says.

So, is marriage on the cards? “Not at all. We are very happy being together but I don’t have any marriage plans now or anytime soon.”
