Kajol up for 'The Killing'?

Kajol, who was last seen in Toonpur Ka Superhero (2010) has been on a sabbatical after the birth of her son, Yug. The actress is now in the process of finalising her return in front of the camera, post her maternity leave.

One of the most accomplished actresses of her generation, Kajol is being wooed to make a comeback by many filmmakers. The actress known to be super selective about the roles she accepts, has been offered a meaty role on the small screen! She has been offered the part of a protagonist in the remake of the American TV show The Killing.

According to sources, bosses of a leading channel are keen to cast the actress in the Hindi adaptation of the hit US show, which centers around a female cop, who is determined to have a normal life separate from the daily horrors of her job. She is ready to marry her fiancé, Rick Felder, and move to a new city with her child when she takes up the murder case of a teenage girl.

While the actress is yet to give a nod, insiders claim that they are already in talks with her. It is a central character and the kind that would attract any actress. Given the current popularity of crime shows in India, one wouldn’t be surprised if the actress gives the nod for this show.  

Though many B-Town biggies (Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan and Shah Rukh Khan) have descended on the small screen as hosts or celebrity judges, few have accepted to be part of a daily soap (see box). Meanwhile, there’s a buzz that Madhuri Dixit has been approached
for the Hindi remake of The Good Wife.
