Juhi Chawla breezes in and out of Bangalore

She may no longer be in her 20s, but actress Juhi Chawla’s beauty and sense of humour never fail to bring a smile to one’s lips. The actress, who was in town recently to promote her film I Am, talks about her latest role that has been discussed at various film festivals and among critics for a while now.
“I Am is about life’s events and shows how our experiences shape our lives. I play the role of Megha who lost her land and saw her family getting threatened when she was younger. But I must add that it is a picture and not a lecture,” says Juhi.
Incidentally, Juhi’s first connect with the film didn’t happen because she was approached for a role. “I came on board because Onir demanded money!” says Juhi in jest, going on to add, “I Am needed some financial assistance and Onir was looking to raise funds online; he is a genuine film-maker and when I heard about it, I decided to invest. There is no credibility on the internet and there is a lot of fraud happening out there.”
However, Chawla says that she doesn’t come across too many thought-provoking films anymore. “We’ve definitely improved a lot when it comes to technology, but when you’re talking content, the Indian film industry needs to offer something better. We shouldn’t look down upon the audience and instead encourage film-makers,” says Chawla.
