John Abraham and Chitrangda Singh are the newest friends in town

Actor John Abraham may be nursing a broken heart post his recent break-up with longtime girlfriend Bipasha Basu, but it seems like the Bollywood hunk has found some support. Co-star and now good friend Chitrangda Singh is apparently his current sounding board. The two, according to the buzz, hit it off instantly while working together on Desi Boyz and then on signing on their next film together as well.

In fact, the two got along well enough to send the gossip-mongers into overdrive. What’s fuelling the buzz apparently are the steamy scenes the two share in their new film. “Yes, the two share a great chemistry on camera. It’s no secret that both have immense respect for each other and can’t stop praising each other either,” said a unit hand. “While John’s maha-impressed with her acting talent, Chitrangda on the other hand thinks that John’s great fun on sets. They definitely share a great comfort level,” the source added.

Incidentally, while John’s been having to deal his share of rumours these past few months now, Chitrangda herself has been busy dodging the constant speculation surrounding her own married life. Reports of tension brewing between the actor and her golfer hubby Jyoti Randhawa keep rearing an ugly head every few months, despite Chitrangda insisting that all’s well on that front. And buzz is that in recent times, it was John who stood by her and advised her not to let the rumours upset her. So, it was hardly surprising that when reports of John’s split surfaced, it was Chitrangda who turned agony aunt!

But if sources close to the two stars are to be believed then husband Jyoti or John’s prospective girlfriends need not lose sleep yet. “Yes, it’s true that they have become very good friends, but that’s all that they are. Nothing more. People are just putting two and two together because they met at such a time when they both might seem in need of a strong emotional support. But the fact is that Chitrangda is committed to her marriage and John’s not exactly looking for love,” says a source. “Besides, both are known to be great co-stars to work with and get along just the same with their other co-stars too,” says a friend close to the stars.

Good friends or not, theirs is the newest dosti in Tinselville that’s set tongues wagging. What cannot be denied however is that though unlucky in love, John is proving to be rather lucky when it comes to finding good friends. Ask Genelia D’Souza or Deepika Padukone.
