It’s a baby boy for Priya!

The MP gave birth to a healthy, eight pound baby boy in the wee hours yesterday

The Dutt family, in particular troubled superstar Sanjay Dutt, finally has something to celebrate! At 6.45 am yesterday, Priya Dutt gave birth to a healthy, eight pound baby boy at Breach Candy Hospital through a Caesarean section.

“We are feeling fabulous. Both mum and baby are doing great!” says Priya’s husband Owen Roncon. In an earlier interview to After Hours, Owen had expressed a wish for a girl, since the couple already have a three-year-old son Siddharth. But the second time father is obviously over the moon as he adds, “We just thank God for the perfect little family he has given us.”

The family has being going through a rough patch with Sanjay steeped deep in legal woes. Rumour has it that Priya planned the caesarean delivery so that her brother, who is out on bail, could spend some time with his new nephew before going back to jail.

No wonder then, when we contacted the MP’s older sister Namrata, she was ecstatic.

“It feels great to turn aunt again. We are all very, very happy!” she said.
