Is Akshay Kumar upset with John Abraham?

The pranks played on film sets by stars are every publicist’s staple meat but this one probably went too far. Apparently actor Akshay Kumar was not amused when co-star John Abraham conned him into having some white rum. Kumar has been a teetotaler for quite sometime now because of his health. Interestingly, the incident happened in the same party which was thrown after the completion of the shoot of the film.

“Rohit (debutant director Rohit Dhawan) orchestrated a social evening to get all his actors comfortable before the start of the shooting schedule at Macdonald Randolph Hotel and Spa in Oxford. Everybody wanted to have fun and it was John’s idea that people should play a prank on Akshay who keeps on playing a prank on everybody,” says a source.

Apparently, this was the only time when Kumar reportedly thought that the prank had gone too far. “Kumar doesn’t smoke or drink and Abraham thought that a little bit of alcohol will help to loosen up Akshay. So he went and told Rohit that he wants to make a cocktail that looks like a mocktail. It was all being done in jest,” said a source. Apparently, the ‘jest’ didn’t remain a jest when Kumar found out that he was conned into drinking alcohol.

“After a sip Kumar told David to check with the bar-man if there’s alcohol in his drink to which everybody insisted that it was a new mocktail that tasted like a cocktail but didn’t have any alcohol in it. After having a few sips Kumar was convinced that he was having alcohol and he went and checked with the bar counter himself. That is when he e to know that he was being conned into having alcohol. Kumar's face immediately hardened when he learnt it,” the source adds. Kumar and Abraham apparently didn’t speak a word in the party after that incident, according to sources even though things became better as the shooting schedule progressed.

“I am sure both will say that it was a prank to get Akshay drunk and Akshay took it sportingly but at that point of time Akshay was not amused when he found he John had made him drink alcohol,” the source informed.
