I’m not quantity-struck, says Amrita Rao

The actresstalks about her long absence from the big screen and also buzz of her re-uniting with the Barjatyas.

I’m not quantity-struck, says Amrita Rao

Actor Amrita Rao may have been missing from the big screen for quite a while now, but the Main Hoon Na actor has been pretty busy off it. Apart from reading scripts, and her many endorsements, the actor has been shooting and dubbing for her upcoming films including Jolly LLB. Admitting that it’s been a while since she’s had a film outing, Amrita says, “To be honest there was no dearth of scripts, but often the projects clashed, or something or the other kept happening, so it just seemed like I had vanished, but I was very much busy shooting and working on my other commitments.”

However, the actor adds that she has never been ‘quantity struck’. “I am ambitious, but don’t think that I’m in a race where I have to run to prove myself or outdo anyone. I am happy working at my own pace and proud of every project that I get associated with, so I don’t mind the wait,” elaborates Amrita. “Sure not all films may have worked, but then no film comes with a guarantee anyway. I just think I am lucky that I have always had a choice. Till I have that, I’m happy.”

Talking about her films in hand, Jolly LLB apart, that sees her pair up with Arshad Warsi, there’s been a strong buzz about her starring in Sooraj Barjatya’s next that also stars Salman Khan. However, Amrita prefers to keep mum about that. “All I can say is that the Barjatyas have always treated me like family. Post Vivaah, we have just been waiting for the right script to work together, so hopefully we will team up again,” shares the actor. As for teaming up with good friend and Vivaah co-star Shahid Kapoor again, Amrita says that it’s the filmmakers call to take.

“I can only sign on the dotted line after reading the script. I would love to work with any actor who is dedicated enough,” adds Amrita. About Shahid, Amrita says that he will always be a special co-star.

“Of course, I would love to work with him, and there are a few other projects that are being discussed too, but it’s too early to talk about anything right now,” she smiles.
