I’m extremely romantic, says Nargis Fakhri

Actor Nargis Fakhri may just be a film old in Bollywood but in the past couple of months, she has been written about constantly for her life off screen. Nargis, who was rumoured to be seeing actor Ranbir Kapoor, set tongues wagging when she apparently was linked to actor Shahid Kapoor, who she reportedly met at an awards event. Post that she was in the news when she was spotted with businessman Ness Wadia at a private party in B-Town. But these things clearly do not bother her as she nonchalantly brushes them all off as rumours. Coming clear on her love life, the actor declares that she is single and is ready to wait for her Mr Right.

“I’m extremely romantic. I’m also extremely picky even though I know there is no such thing as the perfect human. But I’m sure I’ll find the right person for me when the time is right or he will find me. Let’s see what the universe decides,” she says.

She was also considered bold enough to pucker up in Rockstar, her very first film, with actor Ranbir Kapoor.  Though most heroines these days are very particular about the kind of scenes they do and the clothes they wear, Nargis says she will do what it takes to lend the role that authentic touch.

“We keep hearing about ‘clauses’ in contracts that convey a discomfort to perform certain scenes — kissing, lovemaking etc.

It’s about what each person sets as his or her boundary line. I haven’t really given it so much thought. I guess I will evaluate it on a case-to-case basis as things come my way,” she explains.
While she has got mixed reactions for her role in Rockstar, that hasn’t deterred the actor from looking at the positive side. The ever optimistic Nargis says, “I have received mixed reactions and all the feedback is welcome and helpful. I have heard the loveliest things from regular people, who have watched the film both here in India and overseas, which makes me feel good. And when it comes to critical feedback, I believe it is important too as it helps me improve and be a better actor. And for me the greatest high is the fact that I can challenge myself with this job, which pushes me to work on myself.” Considering that Nargis hasn’t been seen in any other film besides Rockstar, we ask her what next and she says, patience is the key, “Now, now, you will have to wait and watch for that, I guess,” she smiles.
