I want to do a romantic film now, says Shah Rukh Khan

Actor Shah Rukh Khan’s last outing on the big screen was My Name is Khan, which can hardly be described as a romantic flick. In fact, his forthcoming two mega-budget flicks too are anything but romantic. While Ra.One is a superhero flick, Don 2 will be an action thriller. And the audiences are not the only ones who are missing the King of romance star in an out-and-out romantic film, but the star himself has been missing the genre, he reveals.
In fact, Shah Rukh is rather keen to star in a simple romantic film after his big budget outings this year. “There are a few genres that haven’t been explored in our industry, VFX being one of them.

Thrillers, horrors and over 40-plus, mature love stories also haven’t been done. I have been known as the lover-boy for so many years now, but incidentally, the other day when I was talking to Aditya (Chopra) he asked me, ‘Shah Rukh when was the last time you did a love story?’ and that really got me thinking. Now I want to do a simple, romantic film. In fact, even comedy is on my agenda. If not that, then I am most happy sitting at home and doing ads.”

And while he’s touted to begin work on a Yash Chopra film apparently a romantic one, rest assured it will be anything but simple. Starting at the end of this year, the film also stars Katrina Kaif and according to the buzz doing rounds, Kajol or Anushka Sharma too.

Interestingly, the actor feels that there’s a dearth of matured love stories in Bollywood, but clarifies that he’s not producing one anytime soon. “Ra.One has taken so much of my energy that right now I can’t even think of anything else. I would like to do a mature love story, but I don’t have one in mind so I don’t think I am producing one anytime soon.”
