I’m too shy to be wacky: Sunil Padwal

Which is the best party you’ve been to?
This was way back in 2000 when I went to Singapore for a Millennium bash. The atmosphere was electric and there were people on the streets to celebrate the Millennium. The food was awesome and so were the drinks. It was one fabulous party!

Who do you normally go with?
With my wife Tanuja. We enjoy each other’s company. Otherwise fellow artists like Brinda Miller are also great fun to be with.

Your favourite poison?
I have tasted beers from all over the world so I’m not fussy about the brand. I can even settle down with Tiger beer from Singapore.

Your favourite party destination?
Nothing can beat Indigo and Olive. I love the ambience and the food there. But, at the end of the day the place doesn’t matter, it’s the person who’s throwing the party that counts. A party can be rocking at home too. For me the dance floor is what matters.

Craziest thing you’ve ever done at a party?
I was at this party in Dubai where a variety of cocktails were being served. And, the adventurous person that I am, I made it a point to down each and every one of them without knowing what’s going down my throat. The last drink tasted weird and I stopped right there.

Give us one party tip.
Once you walk into a party, make most of it. If you feel that the atmosphere or the crowd is boring, just sprinkle some polite ‘Hello’s’ and leave.

Worst memory at a party.
I can’t recall of any worse memory at a party because party goers are becoming more matured and image conscious. Especially when they are surrounded by the media, they’re at their best!

The wackiest party you’ve ever been to?
I have been invited to a lot of wacky parties but I never attend them. I’m too shy to be wacky.

What’s your ideal weekend like?
If I’m out of Mumbai I prefer to chill out with my friends at a beach resort. In Mumbai, I enjoy watching movies, playing Dumb charades or watching cricket together.
