I don’t know why Veena Malik took my name: Neetu Chandra

Actress Neetu Chandra is outraged that starlet Veena Malik ‘tainted’ her name on a reality show.

I don’t know why Veena Malik took my name: Neetu Chandra

Actress Neetu Chandra is seething in anger after Pakistani actor and reality show contestant Veena Malik allegedly slandered her on national television.

“Veena took my name on national television saying I that am involved with cricketer Mohammad Asif and match-fixing. I don’t know why and for what reason she took my name out of the blue,” says an angry Neetu.

Neetu says that she never met Veena’s former boyfriend, tainted Pakistani fast bowler, Md Asif. “I don’t know Asif and her allegation is completely baseless and untrue. Moreover, I haven’t watched a single cricket match in its entirety in my lifetime! I’m into basketball and Taekwondo, not cricket at all,” she adds. Neetu, however, keeps mum when it comes to giving her opinion about Veena as a person.

Though co-participant Ashmit Patel claims that he doesn’t know Neetu at all, his publicist adds, “Ashmit doesn’t know Neetu in person. But since I am their common publicist, I did mention Veena and what she said about Neetu quite a few times to Ashmit during our brainstorming sessions, before he entered the reality show. I hope Ashmit’s ‘genuineness’ changes Veena and she emerges a new person by the time she returns from the show. I also hope she apologises to Neetu for her false allegations,” says Ashmit’s spokesperson.

So, is it true that Ashmit is playing a double game inside the house? “Ashmit is a very down-to-earth and genuine person and I don’t think he is scheming. I am not sure if Veena is the right partner for him, but it’s evident that he has begun to care a lot for her. As far as flirting goes — what’s the harm? Every good looking guy likes to flirt with a good looking girl. When Ashmit openly does this on the reality show, he is actually also connecting with the hidden dreams of most of the youth,” argues a source close to Ashmit.
