When I recently go the opportunity to visit Singapore for a film shooting, it left me thrilled. I love shopping and this is one place where I could shop till I dropped. I have always been intrigued by Singapore's underwater aquariums, safaris and zoos. I'm the biggest animal lover you will meet, so that was another excuse to have a blast. My mother, Dr Mona, and my brother Prashant accompanied me everywhere.

Accommodation
We stayed at this apartment suite at the Oberoi group of hotels, called Royal Singapore. It was very cosy and I felt almost like being at home there with my mom cooking my favourite food for me. I have to say, the
entire hotel was very plush too.

Sight seeing
The place where we were shooting was a sight in itself. Whenever I had free time we went roaming all around Singapore and the place I remember having the most fun at was the
Underwater Aquarium on Sentosa Island. There are 2,500 species of aquatic life and it was breathtaking to see such beautiful fishes and animals freely moving in water. We also went to Singapore's National Zoo which has the Night Safari.
I fell in love with all the monkeys and zebras which I got to see really close up. I also saw many exotic animals such as the Malayan tiger, the white rhino, proboscis monkey, komodo dragon and the sealion. That was a treat. I think my most interesting memory would be the enormous green and brown lizards that walk on the roads here. So do peacocks, actually.
Part of our intinerary inlcuded a trip to Sentosa Island. It's famous for bird shows. I was delighted to see trained red and green macaws doing some amazing stunts. One of the trainers there helped conduct a bird show too.

Food and shopping
I am a vegetarian but luckily Singapore is very veggie-friendly and most of the time my mother cooked Indian food at our apartment. When we went out to have local cuisine I would have hakka noodles with lots of paneer. Of course, we also spent time at so many malls. Singapore is the best place to look for electronic items. We went to a superb mall called Orchid Land from where I picked up many ipods for my friends, portable music systems and some evening gowns and casual wear. The whole experience was so unforgettable, I'm hoping to visit Singapore again sometime soon.
