Gurdas Maan's wife makes debut as director

Punjabi singer-filmmaker Gurdas Maan's wife Manjeet will debut as director with Sukhmani-Hope of Life, starring Gurdas Maan and Juhi Chawla.

The film, produced by Gurdas Maan, is about the journey of an army man who overcomes personal trauma and social indignity to uphold the morals of the army and the honour of a woman rejected by society and family.

The film, scheduled for a February 12 release, has Divya Dutta and Anoop Soni in pivotal roles.

"The film depicts the good and evil that lie within each of us, however when faced with exceptional circumstances each, humans act differently. It shows us that sometimes, we have to make choices that are not always accepted by society. Sukhmani shows us that there is hope for life...," Manjeet told reporters here.

On his role in the film, Gurdas Maan says, "Sukhmani is a very special film to me in many ways, starting from the film, marking the debut of my wife as a director to my hat-trick with Juhi Chawla."
