When this German trio is behind the console, they are known to create havoc. “It’s quite crazy when all three of us play together. We play in tandem and complement each other’s moves,” says Patrick Kroepels who is in the city for a gig tonight at Tote.
But Patrick is one of the many House DJs who have been making trips to India for some excitement and change of scene. And like many, this is Patrick’s first attempt to understand the Indian club scene. “I have no clue about the music scene here,” he admits.
“This is my first time here. But I have heard from my friend Norman Doray who is currently in the city too about the growing electronic music scene and I am excited to test the club scene here,” says Patrick whose DBN has a DJing experience of over 15 years.
So how’s he going to make a track list? “I am very spontaneous. I don’t plan as such when I enter a club. So I will try to understand the response of people on the dance floor,” he says.
Patrick is aware of the hub of trance and house music in Goa and is keen on performing there very soon. “I have heard a lot about the EDM festival there and how big it’s getting. I know there are many house gigs happening and I would love to do some gigs there. I have heard that the sounds here are very different.”
DBN came into the limelight when they received acclaim for their single Everywhere in 2007 and their breakthrough single The Night Train created giant hype around them. Their dark bassline with typical grooves have really worked with club goers.
