The Real Housewives of… series
It follows the lives of upper class housewives and professional women in many American cities. The suffix portion of the title takes on the name of the city or region like Orange County, New York City, etc.
Hell’s Kitchen
Though Indians love cooking and eating, no one bothered to explore this arena. A cooking reality show where chefs compete with each other for the final prize, Hell’s Kitchen has been successful even without celeb contestants. But we need to package it well rather than doing another Khana Khazana.
So You Think You Can Dance
This show has been a raging success abroad. The contestants range from street dancers to winners of national championships. Their versatility is tested with different dance styles. It should be a hit here since most of the present dance shows focus only on Bollywood.
Queer Eye for the Straight Guy
This show is based on the premise that gay men are superior in areas of fashion, style, personal grooming, interior design and culture. In each episode, a team of five gay men known collectively as the ‘Fab Five’ perform a makeover on a person, usually a straight man, in the above-mentioned areas. Since Dostana has been accepted here, this could be one of the most talked about shows.
The Osbournes
It showed the domestic life of heavy metal singer Ozzy Osbourne and his family. One of the most-viewed series on MTV, it’s a great chance for the channel’s Indian version to adapt it.
