 Movies can wait: Natasha Suri

It’s been a long time since Natasha Suri became a beauty queen. However, till now we haven’t seen her on the big screen, which is strange. So, is it a case of not getting work or being too picky? In Natasha’s case it’s the latter. “I got many roles — four dozen of them to be precise,” she says.

So, why didn’t she take them up? “All of them were bad. Going by the kind of work that came to me, I thought that a career of a supermodel is better than playing a second or a third lead on- screen,” says Natasha.

However, if not films, Natasha will soon be seen in a television reality show. So what made her take part in it?

“In this reality show, I don’t have to bitch about someone in front of the camera. When I was told that the context of the show was to live in a slum and survive the ordeal, I got excited. My partner on the show is a 20-year-old girl named Rekha Gaekwad. She lives in the slums of Wadala. Her father works at Regal Cinema as a peon and her mother is a housewife who makes bindis from home. Rekha aspires to be a make-up artist in Bollywood. Despite it being an out of the ordinary dream, she is extremely passionate and that is what enabled me to connect with Rekha,” she ends.
