For Akshay Kumar, it’s work over vacation

When it comes to work-related commitments, looks like everything else takes a backseat for Akshay Kumar. The actor was supposed to take off on a Christmas and New Year holiday with wife Twinkle and son Aarav to the US. However, he delayed the vacation by a few days to be in Mumbai for the muhurat of his next film Patiala House.

Akshay wasn’t even required to be present for the shoot, but he insisted on taking the first shot with Rishi Kapoor who plays his on-screen father. Karan Johar gave the clap for the first shot of the movie to be directed by Nikhil Advani.

A source said, “Akshay was in Canada for the Olympic torch run after which he was supposed to go on a vacation. But when he heard that his film’s muhurat fell on the day he was supposed to go on a holiday, he decided to delay it to be present in Mumbai. The shot was that of Akshay taking the blessings of his father Rishi Kapoor.”

Akshay explained, “Nikhil was very emotional about the whole thing. He wanted me to be there for the first shot and I also wanted to be with the whole cast on the first day.” Atta boy!
