It’s that time of the year to look for excuses to stay away from work. It’s also the time where you could watch painters on the roadside putting finishing touches on murals or graffiti featuring top football stars. With just five days left for the FIFA World Cup, a carnival atmosphere seems to have gripped Mumbai.
DNA asks a few hot female actors in Bollywood to reveal who they are rooting for...and Portuguese midfielder Christiano Ronaldo emerges as the heartthrob of the city.
Amrita Rao says, “He is the reason I watch football. No Ronaldo means ‘No World Cup’ for me. He is aggressive, crafty and God has given him the legs! He is a magician on the ball and I like the way he flaunts his skills too.”
Mugdha Godse says, “Christiano Ronaldo is my hot favourite. He is way too good and I think he will be the player of the tournament this year. I love the way he makes things happen on the field. That’s why he is Ronaldo, one of the most expensive players today.”
Barbara Mori too is rooting for Ronaldo. “He is a good player and very good to look at. I wish him all the best for the World Cup and also to the Mexican team.”
Meanwhile, Argentinean Lionel Messi is also garnering a lot of support from the females. Shriya Saran says, “This is Messi’s year. He is playing fabulous football and there is no defense that he can’t breach. I have seen so much craftiness in only a few.”
Among the teams, it looks like Argentina and Spain are the hot favourites to lift the Cup. Neha Dhupia says, “Argentina is the most talented team. They’re extremely strong on the strategic front and having a coach like Diego Maradona only makes it that much better. I am also rooting for Spain.”
